Nutrien Renews Commitment to STARS in Saskatchewan

Access to emergency care is of the utmost importance for our more than 4,000 employees and their neighbors in communities across Saskatchewan.

Continuing Nutrien’s support of Shock Trauma Air Rescue Services (STARS), which began in 2011 with a commitment of up to $27 million, we are pleased to support this indispensable air ambulance service by dedicating funding towards a new H145 helicopter. This will be an upgraded version of the aircraft in use today.

“Nutrien is proud to renew its long-term support of STARS and ensure this vital service can be enhanced for the people of Saskatchewan,” says Candace Laing, Vice-President of Sustainability and Stakeholder Relations for Nutrien. “We know the importance of having access to emergency care for our communities.”

The Saskatchewan government will also fund one of the three new helicopters needed, and STARS will fundraise for the remainder of their fleet requirement in Saskatchewan, as part of its Keep the Fight in Flight campaign launched in June 2018.

Since beginning Saskatchewan operations in April 2012, STARS has transported more than 4,100 patients. The organization also provides simulation and specialized training to all levels of health care providers across the province, depending on the needs of the community.
