In 2024, Nutrien deepened its impact in the communities where it operates—supporting more than 2,600 charities and non-profits globally and reaching over 17 million people through strategic community investments.
Our investments are guided by purpose and alignment: 79% of Nutrien’s $28 million in total global giving supported initiatives directly tied to our four focus areas—Sustainable Agriculture, Environmental Stewardship, Industry Workforce, and Resilient Communities. These focus areas serve as the foundation for all global community investment decisions, ensuring that support drives meaningful and measurable outcomes.
2024 Community Relations & Investment Highlights:
- Strategic Giving: 79% of our $28 million in total global giving—$21.8 million—was aligned with our focus areas.
- Emergency Relief: We responded to seven global disasters with $252,000 in aid.
- Education: Nutrien’s education programs reached nearly 300,000 students globally.
- Employee Engagement:
- $1.5 million in employee matching donations.
- 24,895 volunteer hours tracked—21,391 outside work hours and 3,504 during work.

A Look Back: Top Moments from 2024

- Geismar Volunteer Fire Department: Nutrien Geismar donated $15,000 to the Geismar Volunteer Fire Department to support the purchase of critical safety equipment, reinforcing its commitment to community safety. Read more
- 10 years of Youth Education with Journey 2050: Nutrien’s Journey 2050 program has reached nearly 900,000 students globally over the past decade. The program continues to empower Grades 7–12 students to explore how their decisions impact society, the environment, and the economy as they virtually farm alongside real families from Kenya, India, and North America. - Holiday giving at the Saskatoon Friendship Inn: Nutrien supported Saskatoon's Friendship Inn through its annual Fill the Plate Holiday Dinner, matching up to $125,000 in donations to help provide nutritious meals for those in need. Employees also volunteered nearly 100 shifts throughout the year at the Inn. Read more
- The Project Forest Siksika Nation Community Shelterbelt Program: Through Project Forest, Nutrien partnered with Siksika Nation to plant shelterbelts that mitigate environmental impacts and support traditional land use—an initiative that touched all four focus areas. Read the stories:
