We are committed to developing products and innovative solutions that help our business and growers tackle the environmental challenges facing the agriculture industry and to reducing the environmental impacts of our operations on air, land, and water.

2023 Highlights

  • We measured 2 million sustainably engaged acres in North America, South America and Australia, doubling the number of measured acres from 2022.
  • Developed the first validated pathway and verified GHG insets for grain crops in Canada, and verified GHG offsets and insets in the US, based on grower data.
  • We have ~1.2 Mmt low-carbon ammonia annual production capability at our Geismar, Redwater and Joffre nitrogen facilities
  • We completed a number of abatement projects, including N2O abatement projects, energy and emission efficiency upgrades, and tied in our second Redwater, AB Ammonia Plant to the Alberta Carbon Trunk Line to allow additional CO2 to be permanently sequestered
  • We completed risk profiles and established a profile database for over 200 NPK products across our North American and European wholesale business.
  • Reduced our freshwater use by ~ 2.7 million cubic meters (equivalent to ~1,080 Olympic-size swimming pools)
  • Planted ~500,000 trees as part of Phosphate reclamation
